Unit leader, camp promise-rockies
When was your first year at Camp Promise?
My first year of Camp Promise was 2015. I wanted to do it in 2014, but I couldn't get time off of work. The Man!
Why do you keep coming back to camp?
It changed my life forever. It taught me a lot about inner strength, courage, independence, and what it means to be there for someone else. From camp, I have made a whole new circle of friends that I would've never had otherwise.
What's your favorite camp theme day and why?
My favorite camp theme day is Camp t-shirt day, because we are all wearing the same t-shirt and we get to take pictures. It shows the solidarity we have for one another even though we met each other less than 48 hours ago. The magic of camp in coming together for a common purpose in a short amount of time is no easy feat; however, through kind hearts, a strong will, and teamwork we all seem to achieve our goals. How rad is that! (yes, I'm old and I used the word rad).
What's your favorite camp memory?
My favorite camp memory is when we had quite possibly one of the greatest toga parties this side of the Atlantic Ocean.
If we did a talent show right now, what would your talent be?
My talent right now would probably be my super sweet dance movies I learned from a VHS tape I picked up at the local store called D'Qwon's Dance Grooves.
What’s your day job?
I am a physician trained in Internal medicine and Geriatrics.
Anything else you want the world to know?
Come to camp! You won't regret it! It's scary at first, but as long as you are there to have fun in a safe, friendly, and fun environment you got nothing to worry about! Seriously, just come. Are you here yet?
