volunteer application process

The goal of our application process is to get to know the personality and skills of our volunteers so we can match them with a camper or position that will be a good fit. Applications are processed on a rolling basis and volunteer positions are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend getting your application in as soon as possible.

step 1: online application

All applicants, including returning volunteers, must complete an online application. As part of this online application, you will be asked to upload the following:

  • Current photo

  • Signed Waivers

  • Government-issued photo ID

  • Copy of your health insurance card(s) (front & back)

Online application due date: The first round deadline has passed but we are still accepting applications for select positions!

step 2: interview with Our Leadership team

All applicants, including returning volunteers, must complete an interview each year. Once your online application is complete, it will be reviewed by our team and invitations to interview will be emailed out.

Volunteer interviews are conducted via Google Hangout video chat.

STEP 3: offer packet

Applicants will be notified via email whether they have been accepted, waitlisted, or declined. A new form (titled Offer Packet) will be added to accepted applicant's online application and will contain additional information about volunteering at Camp Promise. Final hiring is contingent upon successful completion of background and reference checks. Accepted applicants will have 7 days from receiving notification of their acceptance to complete the following:

  • Print, sign, and upload your Background Check Authorization Form

Step 4: medical documents

Final hiring is also contingent upon submission of your medical documents. These forms are required from all new volunteers and they are good for two years.
